Casa Latina teams up with Empire BlueCross BlueShield for Latino Home Expo

Casa Latina is teaming with Empire BlueCross Blue Shield to host their first annual Casa Latina Home Expo on November 9, 2013 at the Altman Building in NYC.

Together, the lifestyle brand and health plan will host The Casa Latina Healthy Home Campaign. Dr. Helen Troncoso, Casa Latina’s Healthy Home Campaign expert, will provide busy Latinas with the tools and resources to help create a wholesome home environment.  The goal is to help Hispanic families learn how to live a healthier lifestyle, while still incorporating popular, traditional foods and customs, in an entertaining and informative venue.

Empire BlueCross BlueShield and the Casa Latina Home Expo will create a dynamic health-related experience bringing together a community of multi-media resources, tools, and health partners to assist moms, as the “Chief Health Officer,” to create a healthy wholesome family.

The Casa Latina Home Expo will encourage the Latino community to make healthy lifestyle choices and will help inform the community about the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Clinics/demonstrations will focus practical information that Latinas can easily integrate into their homes and lives.  The Food Network’s “Chopped” alumni, Chef Ronaldo Linares, will show how to cook easy healthy Latino meals that the whole family will love.
