Castalia Communications has signed a representation deal with Media Networks Latin America for Perú Mágico, a channel comprising programming from three of Peru’s leading pay TV services. The independent producer and distributor of broadcast, satellite, cable and web-based content has secured the exclusive North American rights to Peru Mágico and will distribute the channel throughout the United States and Canada.
The announcement was made by Werner Schuler, CEO of Media Networks Latin America, S.A.C., a Telefónica Company, and Luis Torres-Bohl, President of Castalia Communications.
“We are pleased to have executed this representation agreement with Castalia Communications, a company with considerable experience in North America’s cable and satellite distribution industries,” said Schuler. “Our unique programming mix of exclusive First Division soccer matches, family-oriented entertainment and up-to-the-minute Peruvian news is sure to be well received by Peruvians now living and working in the United States and Canada.”
“What a great honor it is to be working with Telefónica, the leader in Latin America and the Hispanic world,” said Torres-Bohl. “We are happy to report that we are already in discussions for North American carriage deals and we look forward to announcing those very soon.”
Added Peter Kothe, Director, Programming and Content, Media Networks Latin America: “With Castalia Communications’ expertise for identifying, marketing and distributing high-quality content around the world, we know that we have put Perú Mágico in the right hands, and we look forward to watching its audience grow.”
