Cazando Un Millonario @ Telemundo.

When Eva (Fabiola Colmenares) and Felipe (Diego Bertie) meet unexpectedly as contestants in a television game show, a story of love and a storm of emotions come to life in Univision’s new daytime novela, ‘Cazando Un Millonario’ (Hunting for a Millionaire), which will debut on the Network on Monday, February 17, 2003, and air Monday-Friday, 12:00 – 2:00 pm ET/PT (11:00 am – 1:00 pm Central/Mountain).

A co-production by Venevision International and Iguana Producciones, ‘Cazando Un Millonario’ was produced by renowned Peruvian producer/director Luis Llosa, whose international hits include the feature films “The Specialist,” starring Sylvester Stallone, and “Anaconda,” with Jennifer Lopez. The novela tells the endearing story of Eva and Felipe, two strangers who try to regain their financial stability by participating in a TV game show. Eva’s family has lost all their savings, since she entrusted her ex boyfriend to administer the money. And Felipe, a high society millionaire by birth, has squandered his inheritance through bad investments in the stock market.

Finding themselves in a desperate economic situation, Eva and Felipe take notice of the launch of a program called ‘Cazando Un Millonario,’ which offers them the opportunity to resolve their money problems. The show introduces a single millionaire as the future groom, who must pick one of five contestants to be his bride. Once married, the bride receives a grand prize of $100,000 in cash.

A few days before the show’s debut, the producers are in a bind: they cannot find a rich candidate who is willing to get married this way. Gustavo (Carlos Carlin), Felipe’s best friend, convinces him to audition using his well known name and family status, without revealing his real financial situation. Gustavo insists that once Felipe obtains the $100,000 prize, he will be able to recoup his investments by starting over.

Meanwhile, Eva is reluctant to participate in such a humiliating contest, but her family’s bankruptcy forces her to do so against her better judgment. Encouraged by her best friend, Eva decides to appear humble and submissive. She even changes her wardrobe and makeup styles to contrast with the other candidates who seem like fortune hunters. Her new look backfires on Felipe, who at Gustavo’s suggestion picks the candidate that appears to be the most foolish and gullible in order to go through with his plan of using the prize money for his own purposes.

Felipe chooses Eva, and the entire country witnesses their wedding on TV. To their surprise, contest rules require them to live together for at least a year before they can claim their cash prize. Will Eva and Felipe make it through the year? Will they discover that, while chance brought them together, love will keep them united for ever?
