Celia Cruz estate scandal @ Mega TV.
November 18, 2006
Mega TV’s show Paparazzi TV, the program that defines celebrity journalism, has announced a series of special broadcasts about the alleged squandering of the late Queen of Salsa, the beloved Celia Cruz’s inheritance. The broadcasts begin this Monday, December 18, 2006 at 7:00 p.m.
Headed by Graciela Mori and a panel of experts, Frank Cairo and Fernando Castells, Paparazzi TV will investigate this developing celebrity scandal that has shocked the media and fans alike.
“Paparazzi TV was the first news outlet to report on this sensitive topic and aim to find out the truth about Celia’s last will and testament. Even The New York Times picked up on the story and published on its website,” said Mori proudly.
Celia Cruz’s family in Cuba gave exclusive details to Paparazzi TV about how they, along with Celia’s husband, Pedro Knight, have lived in poverty since Celia’s passing. The family accused a trustee, Luis Falcon, of squandering the fortune and manipulating the law to take the family fortune.
Attorney Gilberto Garcia, now representing the family’s interests, has countersued the executors of the estate, telling the Paparazzi cameras that he has first-hand knowledge that Falcon had spent the fortune and that Mr. Knight was now living in “sub-human” conditions in California.
This drama also has involved the President of the Celia Cruz Foundation, Mr. Omer Pardillo, who has questioned Mr. Falcon’s tactics in this scheme and asked for clarity in the matter.
