CENTRO Mi Diario partners with new Tampa Bay History Center.
December 20, 2008
CENTRO Mi Diario in the Tampa Bay area recently concluded the translation of more than 300 exhibit descriptions for the new Tampa Bay History Center. The inclusion of Spanish captions will allow the new Center to provide an in-language experience to the more than 400,000 Hispanics living in the Tampa DMA. Both organizations started working together back in July of 2008 so that materials would be ready for the big opening on January 17th, 2009.
C.J. Roberts, President and CEO of the Tampa Bay History Center stated: “The contributions and influences of the Spanish in shaping the history and cultural landscape of this area are enormous. As an acknowledgement to these contributions and in an effort to reach out to the area’s growing Spanish speaking population, we made the commitment to provide bilingual interpretation of our exhibits. We are most grateful to CENTRO Mi Diario for working with us on the logistics of translation in order to make this happen.”
