Charter Communications and TuTv, the Televisa and Univision joint venture that distributes Spanish-language cable networks De Película, De Película Clásico, Telehit, Ritmoson Latino and Bandamax, announced the successful conclusion of a four-week promotional campaign which added more than 5,000 new Latino customers to Charter’s Los Angeles, Inland Empire, Reno, Oregon, Washington, Central and Northern California key markets.
The multimedia promotion celebrating Mexican Independence Day was in place from August through mid-September and focused on TuTv’s regional Mexican music and lifestyle network, Bandamax. Current and potential customers were invited to sign-up for the Charter Latino tier and enter to win tickets to ranchero sensation Pepe Aguilar’s concert on September 29th, at the Gibson Amphitheater in Los Angeles. Bandamax and Charter utilized English and Spanish cross-channel spots, bilingual direct mail and flyers.
“Charter’s Latino tier has grown quite robust over the years,” said John Figueroa, Director of Multicultural Sales and Marketing. “Charter Latino is a great value that gives customers a host of diverse cable networks that can be part of Charter’s triple play offering of video, data and telephone with unlimited calling throughout Mexico”, added Mr. Figueroa.
Ariela Nerubay, Vice President, Sales and Marketing for TuTv, said, “We wanted to create a promotion that was compelling, related to our programming content and would drive new customers for Charter Latino. Offering tickets to the Pepe Aguilar concert was a perfect fit for our Bandamax network, whose mission is to deliver a true Regional Mexican music experience to our viewers.”
