Chat @ mun2 Has A New Time Slot.
March 1, 2002
Due to popular demand, “Chat”, the first talk show to provide a forum for young U.S. Hispanics, is moving to 9PM (ET/PT). The daily program broadcasts live Monday through Friday on mun2 televisión, a cable television alternative for young Hispanics.
“Chat has obtained tremendous popularity, becoming very well accepted by young viewers who were seeking a place to discuss the issues that matter to them, openly and honestly, without feeling persecuted or censored,” said Yolanda Foster, Vice President of Programming for mun2 televisión. “Viewers are tuning in to voice their opinions and concerns via phone and email, so switching to a time when more people would be able to watch was an obvious choice.”
“Chat’s” five hosts, Ron, Karim, Richie, Paola and Carla are also the show’s producers, and each brings a unique perspective to the program, seeking to create dialogue with their audience with topics that many times touch very close to home. In previous shows, they have tackled the issue of gay rights; taken a serious look into gangs, drugs and prostitution and revealed the pros and cons of plastic surgery.
The 8PM (ET/PT) Monday through Friday hour will be replaced by mun2 television’s music block highlighting a variety of genres. “Padrísimo” features the most popular regional Mexican groups; “Planeta Rock” is the best rock en español alternative for fans; “Jamz” presents the best in tropical sounds with dance music like merengue, salsa and vallenato; “Musica Si” puts top Latin artists on the screen with incredible live performances and “Upbeat” travels through the nightclubs and gets down with the sounds of Hip Hop.
