C.O.D Developes PSA For Florida Breast Cancer Coalition.
December 12, 2004
Miami based CreativeOndemanD (C.O.D) has developed a Public Service Announcement (PSA) television spot titled “Shapes” for the Florida Breast Cancer Coalition (FBCC) in an effort to increase donation levels among Florida Hispanics.
As the PSA spot opens, the viewer sees what appears to be a close-up of a naked female breast. The camera pulls back and it becomes clearly evident that what is on screen is actually a…piggy-bank. While the visual treatment ensures the engagement of the viewer, the message is effectively transmitted that FBCC needs donations in order to continue working toward a cure for breast cancer. The spot ends with a strong call to action for viewers to donate funds by purchasing the End Breast Cancer license plate.
“We are extremely supportive of FBCC’s mission and as an agency C.O.D is honored to be able donate our services to the organization. We are certain that this spot, which we are very proud of, will help build much-needed awareness about breast cancer and will motivate Florida’s Hispanic TV viewers to purchase the license plate and donate to FBCC,” said Priscilla Cortizas, C.O.D founding partner and Creative Director.
Jane Torres, President of the Florida Breast Cancer Coalition Research Foundation, said: “The more I look at the PSA, the more I appreciate how very special it is – it grabs attention, gets the message across, keeps people thinking afterward, and is just “out there” enough to be unique. We’re very glad to have been able to collaborate with C.O.D’s talented group of professionals on this important campaign.”
The PSA spot will be offered to Florida Spanish and English-language television outlets and is expected to be on air in late January of 2005.
