C.O.D Launches Volkswagen Touareg To US Hispanic Market.

CreativeOndemanD (C.O.D) has created a new TV spot titled “Rear-View”, for Volkswagen of America’s Touareg SUV.
“Instead of placing the Touareg in a generic and contrived off-road situation, we opted to highlight how this SUV has features that can be useful in navigating obstacles we actually may face in everyday life,” said Daniel Marrero, C.O.D founding partner and Creative Director. “For example, how Touareg’s technology can help us through a potentially embarrasing moment in a crowded parking lot.”
The spot opens to the sensuous backdrop of Tango music as a young man parks his Touareg in a crowded mall parking lot. He suddenly sees a beautiful woman that has emerged victorious from a day at the mall, but carrying just one bag too many to comfortably squeeze her way through the sea of cars she must traverse. The driver then notices that the girl will need to walk through the narrow space left between his Touareg and the vehicle beside it. Without a second thought he springs into action and with the touch of a button retracts the Touareg’s side mirrors, giving the woman ample space to comfortably walk in between the vehicles. The woman is touched by the driver’s act of chivalry and rewards him with a friendly smile. As the hero sends his mirrors back into position, he’s rewarded once again by what he sees reflected in them: a heart-stopping view of the woman’s sexy sway as she walks away.
This is the third TV spot that C.O.D developed for the Touareg. The first spot, “High Rider”, was instrumental in the success of the Touareg’s Hispanic market launch in late 2003 and focused on the vehicle’s adjustable air suspension. The second spot, “Baby Rocker”, highlighted the Touareg’s ability to handle steep inclines and was created in 2004.
The “Rear-View” commercial is on air on the main Spanish-language television outlets including: Univision, Telemundo, Telefutura and Mun2, among others.
