Copa Lowe’s 2006 Tournament.

La Alianza de Fútbol Hispano officially announced its 2006 Copa Lowe’s tournament schedule which will kick off its third consecutive season on July 15 in San Diego. Copa Lowe’s is a series of local and regional soccer tournaments scheduled to take place from July 2006 through January 2007 in 11 cities throughout the U.S. The Copa Lowe’s national tournament series showcases the top adult, Hispanic amateur teams in the country and provides a unique opportunity for corporate marketers to reach Hispanic soccer players and their families throughout the United States.

Each local qualifying tournament will take place over two consecutive weekends. The first place team from each local tournament will advance to represent its city in one of the three regional tournaments, with the winners of the regional tournaments advancing on to the National Finals- Copa Lowe’s Nacional. At each tournament, participating players and families will enjoy a festive weekend filled with celebrity player appearances, free youth soccer clinics, food, music, games and more.

“In only two short years, Copa Lowe’s has established itself as the premier amateur Hispanic soccer tournament in the country, and we are especially grateful for the way in which both the Latino community and corporate marketers have embraced and supported us,” said Richard Copeland, President and CEO of La Alianza de Fútbol Hispano. “As part of our way of giving back to the communities that support us, we are proud to announce that Alianza de Fútbol Hispano and Lowe’s will be donating five thousand ($5,000.00) dollars in each city to an organization or program that plays a key role in the growth and development of soccer in their community.”

This year Lowe’s returns as title sponsor in all 11 markets and the National Finals. In addition, Lowe’s participation in Alianza de Fútbol Hispano extends beyond the playing field, as the home improvement retailer has developed various fundraising programs for the Latino soccer community, from helping to rebuild local parks to providing new soccer equipment for teams that are less fortunate.
