The 2006 World Cup may be over, but Mexican soft drink brands Sangria Señorial, Sidral Mundet and Jarritos are spreading soccer fever to thousands of Hispanic youth this summer through “Copa Refrescos de Mexico.”
The tournament includes the participation and endorsement of renowned Mexican sportscaster Fernando Schwartz as the national spokesperson.
“Copa Refrescos de Mexico” provides Hispanic youth with the opportunity to practice and play soccer within a healthy environment,” stated Schwartz. “I want to help our Latino youth, and that’s why I am honored to lend my voice to youth soccer.”
As a special treat, Copa Refrescos also includes a soccer clinic that draws the participation of high-caliber, professional soccer players like Mexican professional soccer star legend players Benjamin Galindo, Joaquin Beltran, “Chepo” De laTorre, Ricardo Pelaez, Joaquin Del Olmo, and international soccer icon and the first to referee five matches during one World Cup Armando Archundia.
“The goal of Copa Refrescos de Mexico is to benefit and educate Hispanic youth on and off the soccer field,” stated Jesus Diaz, Corporate Marketing Manager for Novamex, the soft drink brands’ parent company. “This is part of our philosophy of giving back and supporting the Hispanic community.”
Copa Refrescos de Mexico tournaments are held in Las Vegas, Chicago, Atlanta, Houston, El Paso, Northern and Southern California, benefiting more than 40,000 Hispanic youth nationwide.
