January 20, 2008
Creative Civilization won 10 ADDY Awards including the esteemed Best in Show Award at the 2008 ADDY Awards hosted by the San Antonio chapter of the American Advertising Federation (AAF).
Creative Civilization won awards for creative work produced for H-E-B, San Antonio Spurs, AT&T Center, QuePasa.com and San Antonio Opera. The award-winning work included a variety of categories encompassing print, broadcast, outdoor, video, and other collateral materials.
The Best in Show recognition is for the “My H-E-B” television spot entitled “Telenovela,” created in both English and Spanish. In the ad, soap opera-type music is played as a fruit and vegetable share a dramatic exchange. The Best in Show ad captures the imagination through its lighthearted and nontraditional delivery.
“With a name like Creative Civilization, we nurture a culture of innovation and creativity within all departments. This recognition punctuates the creative firepower of our team,” said Al Aguilar, chairman and CEO, Creative Civilization. “I am proud of the entire creative team that embodies the creative spirit of our agency.”
Creative Civilization also received recognition for the 2007 playoffs and NBA championship campaign created for the San Antonio Spurs. In addition, the agency was applauded for a series of posters created for the AT&T Center to promote shows for superstars including Beyoncé and Maná.
A sales video for QuePasa.com also brought home honors for the agency. The two-minute video was used to raise awareness about the booming Hispanic online social community.
