Creste named VP of news for KVEA-TV & KWHY-TV.

Telemundo Los Angeles announced the appointment of renowned journalist, Esteban Creste, as Vice-president of news for its local stations KVEA, Channel 52 and KWHY, Channel 22. Creste will be in charge of daily operations and of the journalistic direction of both stations.

As a veteran journalist, Creste boasts more than 20 years of experience, 15 of which have been with Telemundo. Prior to joining Telemundo Los Angeles, he worked as News Director for Telemundo Chicago for more than three years. Under his leadership, the station doubled its news programming and significantly increased its audience.
Previously, Creste worked for WNJU, Telemundo’s owned and operated station in New York. During his 12-year tenure at the station he functioned as reporter, writer and news director, covering important news events including two visits to Guantanamo to report on the conditions of the detainees; the 1994 presidential elections in Colombia; the Middle East peace process, the state of Israel in February of 1996, and the terrorist attacks of September 11th, 2001, among others. During his coverage of September 11, Creste reported from ground zero for six consecutive days, and his reports were seen in various Latin American countries as well as Spain. As news director, he oversaw four daily news editions, two weekend news programs, as well as the coverage of other important news events.
