Hispanicize has tapped Cristy Clavijo-Kish to lead its management team as CEO and partner.
Clavijo-Kish will guide the company’s expanding management team as it introduces new services for social media marketers, a research division and an enhanced editorial product for Hispanicize.com. Sister network Latina Mom Bloggers also will report to Clavijo-Kish.
“Cristy is a talented Latina with extensive communications, media and business expertise who will lend her own style of leadership and mentoring to our growing team,” said Manny Ruiz who immediately transitions from CEO to chairman of Hispanicize. “Hispanicize has been a catalyst in the evolution of Latino social media and we’re proud to have Cristy spearhead the next phase of its growth.”
Until June, Clavijo-Kish led PR Newswire’s Multicultural Markets division as senior vice president, a role she was appointed to following the 2008 PR Newswire acquisition of Hispanic PR Wire, LatinClips and Hispanic Digital Network- all companies that she co-founded and spearheaded.
“Hispanicize is evolving as an innovative company, and I’m energized to strengthen our focus on strategic partnerships with bloggers and organizations while overseeing further development of our digital marketing services and online content platform,” said Clavijo-Kish. “Throughout my career I have enjoyed working with countless companies and groups on their community outreach and grassroots initiatives, I’ll rely on this experience and my strong desire to see our diverse communities continue to flourish as fuel for my goals.”
Among her first projects, Clavijo-Kish is directly overseeing implementation, training and promotion of the new partnership between Hispanicize and Univision Communications- “Latino Social Media for Social Good.” With a goal to help non-profit organizations more strategically use social media channels to reach their communication and fund-raising goals- the training program is traveling nationwide to six key Hispanic markets.
