Cruz Azul and Monterrey Battle for the Torneo de Apertura Title on GLR.

Grupo Latino de Radio (GLR) announced the live coverage of the final soccer game of Liga Mexicana – Torneo de Apertura 2009, Cruz Azul vs. Monterrey, on Sunday December 13th at 5.30 PM ET / 2.30 PM PT. GLR will air the match directly from Mexico, produced exclusively for US Hispanic radio listeners.

This broadcast is part of GLR’s coverage of Mexican Soccer League, with exclusive radio rights to top Mexican soccer team Chivas de Guadalajaras and coverage of six more teams: Pachuca, Cruz Azul, Morelia, Santos, Tecos and Puebla. Besides the play-by-play, the airings also include highlights, commentaries and in-depth interviews by Francisco Javier Gonzalez and his team of experts.

The broadcast will be carried by more than 60 stations in markets including: Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Houston, Chicago, Dallas, San Francisco, San Jose, Phoenix, San Diego, Fresno, Sacramento, Stockton, Modesto, Merced, El Paso, Denver, Washington DC, Atlanta, Las Vegas, Orlando, Tampa, Austin, Tucson, Portland, Seattle, Salt Lake City, Bakersfield, Yakima, Colorado Springs, Boise, Amarillo, Riverside-San Bernardino, Santa Maria-Lompoc and Lakeland.

Besides the coverage of the Mexican Soccer league, which continues in 2010 with Torneo de Clausura 2010, GLR Networks’ recently expanded and consolidated its Sports content offering with the acquisition of exclusive radio rights for Copa Santander Libertadores and Copa Nissan Sudamericana, and the launch of “Rumbo a Sudáfrica” with Jorge Campos.
