April 15, 2006
“Decisiones,” the hit series from Telemundo, is celebrating its 1st birthday this May with a prestigious award and high ratings figures. Hosted by well-known Spanish-television personality, Candela Ferro, “Decisiones” offers passionate and moving stories inspired by real life events.
The show, which has been the topic of conversations ever since its launch a year ago, is produced at Telemundo’s production centers in Miami, Colombia and Mexico, attracting numerous writers, producers, directors and technical staff. The program is known for its innovative format, original stories and appearances by a long list of talented and well-known actors including Gabriela Spanic, Miguel Varoni, Ivonne Montero, Mauricio Islas, Itati Cantoral, Paola Rey, Francisco Gattorno and Ariel Lopez Padilla, among others.
“Decisiones” has become one of Telemundo’s most successful prime time shows. The most recent ratings figures indicate that in April of this year the program averaged 3.8 among adults 18-49, more than twice the rating for the same time slot a year ago (1.7). Among adults 18-34 the show averaged 3.9 ratings, increasing the average for that time period by an outstanding 144% since April 2005 (1.6).
Giving the show an additional reason to celebrate, the Association of Entertainment Feature Writers (ACE) in New York awarded “Decisiones” the “Premio ACE 2006” for “Best Television Variety Show,” for its excellent professional work. The award was given last Saturday, May 6th at a ceremony held at the Red Oak-Manhattan Valley Center in New York City.
“Decisiones” is hosted by one of the most popular and admired personalities on Spanish-language television, Candela Ferro, who has more than 10 years experience in the media. This Hispanic beauty has also been the host of important special events for Telemundo, including four-time presenter of the “Billboard Latin Music Awards,” “El Premio de la Gente,” “Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade,” the “Golden Globe Awards 2003” and “Miss Universe 2003 and 2004.” The last three events made television history by airing for the first time on Spanish-language television in the United States. It was her work as co-anchor of “Ocurrio Asi” on Telemundo that opened the doors to her current success.
