Maria del Rio was promoted to General Manager of KCSO, the Telemundo affiliate serving the Sacramento-Stockton-Modesto DMA. Ms. del Rio assumes this new role as the station completes its upgrade to a high-definition digital signal, which will significantly enhance picture quality and provide improved coverage throughout the 3-metro area.

Ms. del Rio has had a highly successful career in the central California area. She began her broadcast career in San Francisco, gaining experience in English-language and Spanish-language media, radio, and TV. She was part of the team that launched San Francisco‚s Telemundo affiliate KSTS in 1987. From 2006 until 2009, she was General Sales Manager of KUVS Univision 19 in Sacramento, and joined Telemundo 33 in April, 2009 as General Sales Manager.

Ms. del Rio was instrumental in increasing awareness and excitement for the popular annual Principal’s Lip Sync Contest, a community scholarship program; the launch of station website telemundosacramento.com, and was recently appointed to the board of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Procurement Foundation.
