Deportes Telemundo presents FIFA World Cup qualifying match between Costa Rica and México.

Deportes Telemundo presents the FIFA World Cup qualifying match between Costa Rica and México live, coast to coast, on Friday, September 7 at 9pm ET/8pm CT. The game will take place at the National Stadium of Costa Rica and will be called by the internationally acclaimed sportscaster Andrés Cantor together with renowned soccer presenter Sammy Sadovnik and, in the field, reporter Kaziro Aoyama. Deportes Telemundo also will feature a pregame show with special reports, interviews and expert commentary and analysis.

The Mexican team has consolidated its position as “the CONCACAF giant” under the direction of Coach José Manuel de la Torre after winning the “Copa de Oro,” the Gold Medal in the Pan American games and, most recently, the Gold Medal in London 2012.

“For the Mexican national team a victory would be a firm step towards the next phase of the classification on their way to the 2014 World Cup. On the other hand, Costa Rica needs a victory and will fight until the end,” said Cantor.

Mexico lined up Andrés Guardado, Javier “Chicharito” Hernández, Giovanni Dos Santos, Héctor Moreno, Guillermo Ochoa and “Maza” Rodríguez. Costa Rica surprised by announcing Gabriel Badilla, Daniel Colindres and Christian Bolaños, who returns after a ten month suspension.

Costa Rica and Mexico have faced off on 16 occasions in World Cup qualifiers, with eight wins for Mexico, three for Costa Rica and five ties.
