Deportes Telemundo to showcase amateur Hispanic soccer players.

Deportes Telemundo and Alianza de Futbol Hispano announced a partnership that will give top amateur Hispanic soccer players in the U.S. an opportunity to achieve their dreams of becoming a professional soccer player in the prestigious Mexican League (Liga MX).

In an effort to identify skilled young players who dream of going professional, Alianza de Futbol’s 7 Up Sueño Alianza scouting program will kick off its six-month tour in Phoenix on April 12th. The program will include nine other cities and will conclude with a National Camp in Los Angeles in September 2013, from which a select few will have a unique opportunity to be signed by Liga MX and MLS Academy teams. Deportes Telemundo will document the months-long journey in a one-hour special to be aired during Hispanic Heritage Month, featuring highlights of the games, as well as in-depth stories and interviews with the young players and their families.

“As the home of the best Mexican soccer, we are extremely proud to partner with Alianza de Futbol and offer young Hispanic kids an opportunity to make their dreams come true, while promoting a healthy lifestyle,” said Telemundo’s Vice President of Sports Eli Velazquez.
