Despierta América bolsters news coverage.

Univision Communications Inc. announced that as of July 18, 2011, two award-winning journalists will join the news desk of its flagship morning show “Despierta América” (Wake-up America).  Satcha Pretto, most recently host of Univision’s weekend newsmagazine “Primer Impacto Extra” (First Impact Extra) and contributing reporter to “Primer Impacto” and “Noticiero Univision” (Univision News), will be covering each morning’s top news stories alongside Félix De Bedout, an award-winning journalist with an extensive career in television and radio in Colombia. 
 
Pretto and De Bedout join Alfonso “Poncho” de Anda, Chiquinquirá Delgado, Ana Patricia González, Raúl González and Karla Martínez as part of the beloved cast. “Despierta América” airs Monday through Friday at 7am ET/PT (6am Central) to 10am ET/PT (9am Central).
