Discovery en Español began production of ‘Acceso Exclusivo: PUMAS’.

Discovery en Español announced the production of a new series based on one of Mexico’s leading professional soccer teams. “Acceso Exclusivo: PUMAS” is being produced under the network’s soccer programming concept, Fútbol vDL (Fútbol via the Discovery Lens). The concept debuted successfully two years ago with the development of original productions based on the science behind soccer, “La Ciencia del Gol” and “La Ciencia del Campeón,” which achieved excellent ratings.

“Discovery understands the needs of the U.S. Hispanic community and is developing this new show to continue to satisfy its audience’s curiosity about issues surrounding the sport it loves best, soccer,” said Victor Parada, Vice President of Advertising Sales, Discovery U.S. Hispanic. “Fútbol vDL allows us to offer our viewers the finest in quality programming that uncovers the most revealing details about this game.”

Premiering in fourth quarter 2012, “Acceso Exclusivo: PUMAS” takes viewers deep into the world of soccer, following a professional soccer club as they train and prepare for the upcoming 2012-2013 season. The series goes behind the scenes with PUMAS as the team conducts pre-season training and tryouts, looks for rising stars, and places high hopes on the shoulders of its returning ones. The cameras also get up close and personal with fans so devoted that at times more seems to be at stake for them than the players.

Two years ago, Discovery en Español premiered “La Ciencia del Gol” (Science of the Goal), which used technology to explain different aspects of soccer. Based on its successful results, this year the network premiered “La Ciencia del Campeón” (Science of the Champion) to explore the science and cutting-edge technology that shape elite soccer players in Colombia, England, Spain, the United States and Mexico.

Leading brands such as Coors Light, Ford and Farmers Insurance have already taken advantage of Discovery en Español content developed under Fútbol vDL, participating in integrated custom series and short-form content.
