Discovery en Español returns in 2010 with new episodes of the winning human adventure genre that characterize the network and offer viewers real life escapes filled with thrilling expeditions and man vs. nature adrenaline filled moments.
Debuting this new season, on March 9 PM ET/ 10 PM PT, Discovery en Español will introduce its viewers to an exciting new series. Tattoo Hunter follows intrepid anthropologist Lars Krutak as he investigates ancient body modification rituals from around the planet, exploring sacred traditions that date back thousands of years by immersing himself into the daily life of warriors, cannibals and head-hunters.
Witness the visually stunning body artwork of the fascinating people featured in the series and join Lars as he uncovers an ancient art form and exposes several unique customs, including tattooing styles, practices, design and scarification processes.
But the breathtaking excitement does not stop there. Each new show brings viewers back to back clips of the most shocking devastation and life or death situations ever to have been caught on camera. Nine ordinary Americans will be flown in, dropped off, and stranded deep in the heart of Central Alaska. Their goal is to make it back to civilization…alive. Left with only the barest of essentials, they will travel sixty of the harshest miles on the planet while battling hunger, fatigue, and an unforgiving winter that will make surviving nearly impossible. Along the way, they will encounter several backcountry shelters that they must utilize in order to protect themselves from Alaska’s frigid winter temperatures and whipping winds.
