Diva Digital Pictures Inks Distribution Deal with World Television.

Diva Digital Pictures, Inc. of Coconut Grove, FL has signed on with World Television’s KSFV Channel 26 in Los Angeles and KBCB Channel 24, Seattle Washington to have it’s show “Futbol con Mayte” appear as part of KSFV’s children’s programming. Beginning January 1st, 2004, “Futbol con Mayte will now reach more than 1.1 million Spanish-speaking households via KSFV/KBCB and we are proud of this accomplishment,” stated J. Alex Gomez, President of TG ProMerchandising, Inc.

Futbol con Mayte is a half-hour sports and fitness program centered on the popular sport of soccer. “There are millions of children playing soccer in the US today,” states Mayte Prida, President of Diva Digital Pictures and host of the show. “We bring some of the top international soccer players from Latin America and Europe, to the children, to teach them techniques for improving their soccer skills” she says. “Beyond that, we keep our Latino children exercising and as an added value, they learn discipline and team dynamics.”

Mayte Prida was a news anchor at KMEX Channel 34 (Univision) in Los Angeles and at KWEX Channel 41 (Univision) in San Antonio, Texas. From her experience and battle with breast cancer, she wrote a book and produced a documentary about her ordeal called “Una Etapa Dificil” (A Difficult Journey) and frequently speaks on the issue of breast cancer in the Hispanic community. After surviving cancer, she went back to continue the taping of her children’s shows and taped some straight to video episodes of the series Futbol con Mayte and Soccer with Mayte.

“After what I had been through I decided that I want to dedicate my life to produce television programming that would make a difference with children,” says Mayte. “The show gives children, and their parents, so much more than cartoons and keeps them active and fit.”
