Dori Media Group (“DMG” or “the Group”), the international media company active in the field of television, with a focus on production, distribution, broadcasting and merchandising of Telenovela, today announces the opening of a new subsidiary called Dori Media America Inc. (DMA), located in Miami (USA), as part of its strategy to grow Telenovela sales and in response to increasing demand for Telenovela in America, and specifically in the US market. DMA will focus on marketing and distributing DMG’s library of Telenovelas to US media partners, including major broadcasters who have recently shown a growing interest in the Telenovela TV genre.

Mr. Jose Escalante has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of DMA and President / General Manager of Dori Media Distribution GmbH (DMD), the subsidiary of DMG responsible for the global Telenovela distribution of DMG, with immediate effect. In addition to DMD’s existing worldwide sales personnel, Mr. Jose Escalante will be assisted at DMA’s offices in Miami by a team of approximately 10 executives with significant experience in Telenovela sales.

As CEO of DMA, Mr. Escalante’s role will include marketing the Group’s Telenovelas to US broadcasters and partners, developing strategic partnerships for the distribution of Telenovelas and formats, as well as developing cooperative agreements with large broadcasters and merchandising companies to increase sales of Telenovela-branded products such as music CDs, DVDs and videos. As President and General Manager of DMD, Mr. Escalante will also supervise the management of the worldwide distribution of Telenovelas.

Nadav Palti, President and CEO of Dori Media Group, commented: “We are delighted to welcome Jose Escalante to Dori Media Group and to launch our new subsidiary DMA in Miami. This strategic opening in the US, coupled with the invaluable experience brought by Jose and his team, will enable us to enhance our distribution scale and strategic network in the US market. The power of Telenovelas and the loyalty they generate are very strong in the US both in the Hispanic and non-Hispanic markets, in many cases generating higher prime-time ratings than other programs on US TV channels. This is an exciting opportunity for Dori Media to establish itself as a partner of choice for US broadcasters.
