Dr Pepper celebrates Hispanic Community’s authenticity and unique self-expression.

Dr Pepper invites Latino artists around the country to express their bold and flavorful side through the Sabrosura Art Contest. Participants have a chance to win a grand prize of $5,000 and have their artwork appear on Dr Pepper packaging.

“The Dr Pepper Sabrosura Art Contest is designed to tap into the creative force of Hispanic culture,” said Stephanie Bazan, brand manager for Dr Pepper Hispanic marketing. “Sabrosura means zest for enjoying life through social gatherings, music, dancing, drinking and eating delicious foods – all distinctive features of this vibrant culture. Through Sabrosura, we want to encourage Hispanics to express their individuality and their zest for life – characteristics that have been a cornerstone of the Dr Pepper brand for more than 30 years.”

Beginning Oct. 17 and continuing through Nov. 16, Sabrosura-inspired artists can submit their entries online at http://www.drpeppersabrosura.com. In keeping with this theme, contest judges will evaluate each entry based on the Sabrosura feel, creativity, and originality as well as Dr Pepper branding in order to narrow the field of entries to 23 semi-finalists.

Semi-finalists will be notified by December 21, 2007, and each will receive a check for $2,300. Their entries will be posted online where consumers will have the chance to vote on the masterpiece that will be featured in Dr Pepper Sabrosura marketing materials for 2008. Five finalists will be named, with each receiving a check for $2,500. One grand-prize winner will receive a check for $5,000. Winning entries will be displayed in January 2008 via the Sabrosura Web site.
