Echevarría de la Gándara named VP of Digital News at Univision

Univision News, the news division of Univision Communications, Inc., announced that renowned Spanish journalist Borja Echevarría de la Gándara has been appointed vice president, Digital. He will be based in Miami and report directly to Daniel Coronell, senior vice president and executive director of News at Univision.
In this newly created role, Echevarría de la Gándara will direct strategy for Univision News’ digital platforms, including NoticiasUnivision.com and La Huella Digital (The Digital Footprint), its special projects site. He will also oversee the integration of digital and TV newsrooms to ensure consistent news content and messaging, as well as participate in all editorial meetings, helping to establish editorial strategy across all platforms. In addition, he will be charged with creating a state-of-the-art data journalism unit for Univision News.
