El Diario & SBS honoring Hispanic immigrant audience in NYC.

El Diario La Prensa and SBS Radio (Mega 97.9 and 93.1 Amor) in New York City have joined together in a show of support for their Hispanic readers and listeners. On Monday, May 1st, El Diario La Prensa will publish a “blank page” to illustrate the void that would be left at the heart of an America without immigrants.

The newspaper and radio stations have joined together to recognize that their own employees and their respective families, friends, and clients are themselves immigrants. Throughout the weekend prior, SBS New York will run promotional spots in support of the rally and a calling for a rational solution to the immigration issue.

All Spanish language media in the New York market, including El Diario La Prensa and both SBS stations, have plans to provide complete coverage of the day’s events.

El Diario La Prensa has maintained a long tradition of supporting immigrants during their struggles in the America and stresses the important leadership role Spanish language media has played during this movement. Rossana Rosado, Publisher and CEO of El Diario La Prensa notes, “It’s time for Americans to stop pretending we don’t need immigrants to run this country. It is critical that we look at what immigrants bring to our society instead of what they take. Those of us in positions of power and influence should use our positions to illustrate these facts.”

The ad will appear in the front pages of the May 1 edition of El Diario La Prensa available at newsstands.
