El Gato launches in Las Vegas.

Entravision Communications Corporation announced the launch of its “El Gato” format on KRRN 92.7 FM in Las Vegas. The station features an energetic mix of the best contemporary grupera, cumbia and banda music from hit artists like La Arrolladora Banda El Limon, K-Paz de la Sierra, Intocable, Banda El Recodo, Los Bukis, El Trono de Mexico and Los Angeles de Charly.
“As the Latino population in the U.S. continues to expand, so does Entravision’s commitment to providing local communities with the best Spanish-language radio. ‘El Gato’ has already been embraced by listeners in the Los Angeles and El Paso markets and we are excited to bring this successful format to the city of Las Vegas,” said Christopher Roman, Vice President/General Manager of Entravision Communications Corporation’s Las Vegas cluster. “With its mixture of hits from the 90’s through today, ‘El Gato’ is sure to entertain the Latino community of Las Vegas for years to come.”
In addition to providing the Las Vegas Latino community with the best grupero hits, KRRN 92.7 FM will be home to several highly anticipated fútbol matches such as the 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup, Mexican National Team matches, and the FIFA World Cup, which will take place in Brazil in 2014.
This is the third “El Gato” station launch since Entravision created the format in 2009. El Gato can also be heard on KDLD/KDLE 103.1 FM in Los Angeles and KYSE 94.7 FM in El Paso, Texas.
