El Premio de la Gente Celebrates 6th Year Anniversary.

Thousands of music fans turned out for the sixth annual El Premio de la Gente, Latin Music Fan Awards at the popular Universal Amphitheatre in Los Angeles, California. The event, which was broadcast on the Telemundo Network on Saturday October 30th, 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, featured the biggest names in Latin music. The hosts for El Premio de la Gente were Candela Ferro and Jose Angel Llamas, two of Telemundo’s hottest personalities.

World-renowned performers and nominees were on hand to celebrate El Premio de la Gente’s return to Los Angeles and the Universal Amphitheatre. The evening was filled with electric performances from artists such as cutting edge newcomers Akwid, Jae-P, Crooked Stilo and Yolanda Perez with Don Cheto; current best-sellers Aleks Syntek and Climax; bestselling band Grupo Montez de Durango; the charismatic and intense Paquita la del Barrio; the incomparable King of the Cumbia and Vallenato, Aniceto Molina; the international star Charlie Zaa of Colombia; the Christian Music star, Marcos Witt; and the enchanting star from Puerto Rico, Ednita Nazario. In addition, the audience was blown away by the triumphant return of Gloria Trevi who accepted the first-ever Alma de la Gente – Soul of the People – tribute with a special appearance and performance of her latest single “En medio de la tempestad.”

For the second consecutive year, Chevrolet participated as the title and exclusive automotive sponsor of El Premio de la Gente(R). Sonia Maria Green, Hispanic Marketing Director for General Motors, was a presenter at the awards show. According to Green, “Chevrolet and General Motors understand the importance of music and arts in the Hispanic community and are proud to support El Premio de la Gente(R).”
