ELEFANTES For 2005 Ford Focus.

Zubi Advertising launched a national ad campaign for the 2005 Ford Focus using a popular Hispanic nursery rhyme called “Elefante” (Elephant). The spots will begin airing on May 1st.

The agency’s team employed a creative play-on-words of the Spanish word “elegante” (elegant) with another Spanish word “elefante” (elephant) with young men arriving to a formal party in elephant suits. The TV advertisement shows a driver in a large elephant suit picking up four friends, one-by-one, all in similar elephants suits dancing and singing a modern version of the popular “Elefante” Hispanic nursery rhyme. The point is clearly made that they are having fun and have a great deal of room for five in their 2005 Ford Focus. Upon arrival at the party they realize that the invitation states “elegante” as apposed to “elefante”.

The 30-second television ad, shot in Los Angeles, on March 1st thru 3rd, will run on popular Hispanic television networks Univision, Telemundo and Telefutura. The 2005 Focus will also be strategically placed in various product placements on top Hispanic television shows like Sábado Gigante, Caliente and Cinemundo.

The print, radio, internet campaigns will also incorporate the “Elefante” nursery rhyme theme and appear in top publications and sites like People En Español, Latina, Hispanic Magazine, Impulso, Hispanic Business, Terra.com and Univision.com. These advertisements will also run in conjunction with the television campaign.

The 2005 Ford Focus has won praise for its performance, handling and package. It has been named as one of Car and Driver’s “10 Best” cars for five straight years and remains a popular small car choice among Hispanics.
