Emilio Estefan Holds National Talent Search.
October 15, 2004
Telemundo and Estefan Television Productions are conducting a national talent search for the next Latin superstar. Twenty participants will be chosen to compete for a lifetime opportunity, a recording contract with a major record label, in the weekly reality talent series, “Nuevas Voces de America” (New Voices of America), which is scheduled to debut on Telemundo early next year.
“This new generation of youth was born in this country, sing in Spanish and maintain their Hispanic culture, and it’s a wonderful opportunity for me to help them achieve their dreams,” said Emilio Estefan.
“Telemundo is proud to partner with the quintessential Latin Pop stars producer in the world. This great endeavor exemplifies the network’s commitment to offer the best original programming created specifically for our viewers,” said Ramon Escobar, Vice President of Programming and Production at Telemundo. “By partnering with the best in the business, we secure a high-quality product that will drive viewers to our screens.”
To participate in casting sessions, candidates must be U.S. residents, at least 18 years of age, and be fluent in Spanish with the ability to sing in that language. Interested parties should not have had any previous representation by a record label, and may participate in either live auditions, or by mail, but not both. Auditions are scheduled to take place as follows:
