Entravision to broadcast World Cup for the first time on FM Radio in LA.

Entravision Communications Corporation announced it will broadcast World Cup soccer games for the very first time on an FM radio frequency in Los Angeles, California, the largest Hispanic market in the U.S., on its radio station KLYY OYE! 97.5 FM. The company also announced that it will air World Cup games on its radio stations KQRT La Tricolor 105.1 FM serving Las Vegas, Nevada, KZMP La Tricolor 104.9 FM serving Dallas, Texas and KSVE ESPN Deportes 1150 AM serving El Paso, Texas. Coverage begins airing June 9 and will continue through the final game on July 9.

“Our inaugural broadcast of the world’s largest sporting event is a milestone for the city of Los Angeles and Entravision’s KLYY OYE! 97.5 FM,” said Jeffery A. Liberman, President of Entravision’s radio division. “The broadcast of World Cup games in Los Angeles, as well as Las Vegas, Dallas and El Paso represents our continued commitment to providing our dedicated listeners with the highest quality Spanish-language programming. As we get closer to kick-off, we are seeing increased enthusiasm from both our listeners and sponsors and look forward to a successful World Cup for all of our constituents.”

National and local advertisers sponsoring the event include McDonald’s, Coca-Cola, Home Depot, Budweiser, Best Buy, Verizon Wireless and many others which vary by market. Broadcasting rights were made available through Futbol de Primera on an exclusive basis in each market.
