Entravision Builds New ‘Casa’ In Dallas.

Entravision Radio, a division of Entravision Communications Corporation (NYSE: EVC), announced that KDL 106.7 FM in Dallas/Fort Worth (formerly “The Texas Party Station”) is changing its name to “Casa 106.7. The change will more accurately reflect 106.7’s direction of music the past few months, which is an English language presentation of Reggaeton, Latino and Hip-Hop music. The station will feature such artists as Ivy Queen, Pitbull, Tego Calderon, Frankie J, Don Omar, NB Ridaz. Fat Joe, Daddy Yankee, J-Lo, 50 Cent and Nina Sky…and targets Latinos aged 18-34, the fastest growing population segment in the D/FW market. The station’s call letters have changed to KZZA-FM.

Initially, Casa 106.7 will be showcasing just the music until 2:00 p.m. everyday. Live talent will be on the air from 2:00 – 10:00 p.m. weekdays, including Domino (6-10p). Live weekend shifts will eventually be added, along with the 10a-2p weekday daypart.

Scott Savage, General Manager of Entravision’s D/FW radio stations comments, “106.7 has been focusing on this music for the past few months and based on the huge response and strong Reggaeton movement sweeping the country, we decided to totally remake the station. There’s a huge audience of young Latinos who are extremely passionate for this music and, as a result, “Casa 106.7″ will be an outstanding advertising platform for businesses seeking to attract this large and fast growing demographic segment.” Entravision/DFW Operations Manager and Program Director, Dean James, adds, “Casa 106.7″ will have a unique presentation that reflects a true understanding of the D/FW marketplace at the street level where Latinos live. This is not a cookie cutter format. This is a format developed by a Spanish language media company that truly understands its core audience.”

In Dallas/Fort Worth, Entravision also owns and operates KZMP-FM 104.9 “El Gato” (Cumbia music featuring air personality “El Cucuy” in the morning), KTCY-FM 101.7 “Super Estrella” (Spanish pop music hits) and KZMP-AM 1540 (time-brokered to a local Hispanic church).
