Entravision Communications San Diego Wins 11 Emmy Awards.

Entravision Communications’ owned and operated Spanish language stations, KBNT-17 Univision and XHAS-33 Telemundo, were awarded 11 Emmy Awards from the Pacific Southwest Chapter of the National Association of Television Arts and Sciences. In ceremonies at the Omni Hotel Saturday (June 18th), the stations won various prestigious Emmys for: News Feature, Photography, Writing, Performance, Entertainment Program, Animation Spot, Animation/Graphic Design and On-Air Station Promo.

This has been the most awarded year since KBNT-17 and XHAS-33 began submitting entries. Last year the stations won 4 Emmys combined, and this year the awards more than doubled to 11.

Univision KBNT-17 received the following awards: Ricardo Vela, News Feature, “Trovadores del Siglo 21”; Victor Andrade, Photography, “San Diego en la Oscuridad”; Carlos Gonzales, Writing, “San Diego en la Oscuridad”; Robert Moutal, Animation Spot, “Rompiendo Cadenas”; Robert Moutal, Animation/ Graphic Design, “Noticias Univision 17”; Robert Moutal, On-Air Station Promo, “Rompiendo Cadenas”.

Telemundo XHAS-33 was honored the following awards: Ruben Pereida, News Feature, “La Noche del Bouncer”; Zeji Ozeri and Robert Moutal, Entertainment Program & Performance, “De Mañanita 33, 2004 Year in Review”.

The Emmy statuettes represent the highest honor bestowed in the Television Industry. The Pacific Southwest Chapter of the National Television Academy is dedicated to serving the television community while recognizing and awarding excellence in television. This Chapter serves the San Diego area, Bakersfield, Oxnard, Palm Springs, Palm Desert, San Luis Obispo, Santa Maria, Santa Barbara, and Las Vegas, Nevada.
