October 6, 2001
KLUZ-TV, Channel 41, an Entravision Communications Corporation owned and operated, full-power station, announced it has been granted a license to up-link its broadcast signal via satellite, making it available to all cable system head-ends in the market.
By uplinking their signal, KLUZ-TV, a Univision affiliate, now has the capability to reach an additional 120,000 cable homes in the Albuquerque-Santa Fe market and surrounding communities. KLUZ-TV expects to have full cable carriage by the end of 2001.
Luis Hernandez, General Manager of KLUZ-TV Channel 41, commented, “KLUZ-TV is committed to providing Albuquerque-Santa Fe communities with news and entertainment. With the completion of the satellite uplink, we are now compatible with all cable head-ends in the area, further strengthening our position as the leader in Spanish-language programming for the Albuquerque-Santa Fe market. Expanding the reach of KLUZ-TV is not only beneficial for our viewers and advertisers, but it also enables cable system operators the ability to provide their customers with the programming they demand.”
KLUZ-TV is the only full-power, Spanish-language station serving the Albuquerque-Santa Fe market.
