October 22, 2004
KVVA-FM and KDVA-FM, owned and operated by Entravision Radio, a division of Entravision Communications Corporation, announced that they have begun simulcasting the Super Estrella format on KVVA-FM 107.1 and KDVA-FM 106.9 in Phoenix, Arizona. The Super Estrella format gives Phoenix radio listeners their first Spanish-language pop music station.
Super Estrella’s young, hip music appeals primarily to Latinos ages 18-34, the fastest growing segment of the U.S. Hispanic population. Radio listeners in Phoenix, Arizona can tune into KVVA-FM and KDVA-FM to hear Latin music’s most popular artists, including Paulina Rubio, Mana, Shakira, Ricky Martin and Alejandra Guzman.
“Super Estrella is the perfect fit for KVVA and KDVA and will be a great complement to the existing programming on our other two stations in the market,” said Tom Duran, General Manager of the stations. “With the Super Estrella format now available on the radio dial in Phoenix, we will be able to bring our listeners a broader array of Spanish-language radio programming options that appeal to their interests and preferences and offer advertisers a compelling avenue to reach the growing base of Hispanic consumers.”
“Super Estrella is one of Entravision Radio’s fastest growing network formats and has attracted a very strong, loyal audience base since its launch in 2000,” said Tom Duran, General Manager of the stations. “Entravision Radio has taken the lead in developing Spanish-language radio formats that are truly innovative and speak to the many demographic groups within the U.S. Hispanic community. We believe in serving the local Hispanic community by providing our listeners with the programming they want to hear.”
