Escobedo named GM & Publisher of La Prensa.

The Press-Enterprise Company has named Frank Escobedo as general manager of Hispanic media, and publisher of La Prensa in Riverside, CA. In this new role, Escobedo will be charged with broadening the Company’s reach into the region’s rapidly growing Hispanic community by sharpening its focus on La Prensa, its Spanish-language newspaper, and expanding its Hispanic media franchise by increasing its portfolio of Spanish-language products.

“The Hispanic community in our region is expected to grow to more than 2 million by 2012, which will represent almost 50% of the population,” says Ronald Redfern, chief executive officer and publisher of the Press-Enterprise Company. “La Prensa had a strong performance this year, and in his role, Frank will be charged with continuing to grow La Prensa’s audience and revenue through the addition of more outlets and home delivery in 2009.”
