ESPN Deportes & The Dallas Mavericks Team-Up To Present ‘Fiesta Night’.

ESPN Deportes, in conjunction with the Dallas Mavericks, will present a special performance by Latina star Roselyn Sanchez during an extended halftime show as the Dallas Mavericks host the Golden State Warriors at American Airlines Center on Wednesday, January 7 at 9:00 p.m. ET.

Sanchez performance will be the highlight of “Fiesta Night,” a special evening set aside by the Mavericks to celebrate Latino culture. The performance by Sanchez will also commemorate the launch of ESPN Deportes, the new 24-hour Spanish-language sports network. ESPN Deportes makes its nationwide debut earlier in the evening at 8:00 p.m. ET. ESPN Deportes will provide live coverage of the Warriors vs. Mavericks game as well as Sanchez performance at halftime.

An actress, singer, and dancer, Sanchez feature film breakthrough role came in 2001 in “RUSH HOUR 2”. The following year, she had supporting roles in the comedy “BOAT TRIP” teaming with Cuba Gooding Jr. and the thriller “BASIC” with John Travolta. In 2003, Sanchez starred in the comedy “CHASING PAPI” and released her debut album “BORINQUEÑA,” a mix of what she describes as “world beat latin soul.”

“We’re thrilled to work with Roselyn, the Mavericks and the NBA to celebrate the launch of ESPN Deportes,” said Lino Garcia, general manager, ESPN Deportes. “Roselyn is a tremendous talent and Fiesta Night is a natural tie-in to ESPN Deportes. The evening will be a terrific opportunity to raise awareness of Latino culture.”

“This Mavs Fiesta Night promises to be the biggest and best to date,” said Matt Fitzgerald, senior vice president of marketing/communications/community relations for the Mavs. “We are honored to be involved with the launch of ESPN Deportes and look forward to having Roselyn perform at halftime for our fans.”

ESPN Deportes will debut at 8:00 p.m. ET with Somos ESPN Deportes, a show that will preview key programming and feature an array of Latino sports stars, including Eduardo Najera of the Dallas Mavericks, Bernie Williams of the New York Yankees, and veteran race car driver Adrian Fernandez. Somos ESPN Deportes will be followed by the inaugural edition of the new Spanish-language production of SportsCenter at 8:30 p.m. ET and by full, on-site coverage in Dallas of the Warriors vs. Mavericks at 9:00 p.m. ET. Live editions of SportsCenter will follow at 11 p.m. ET and 2:00 a.m. ET.
