Ford and ESPN Deportes’ Dream Job: El Reportero donated soccer equipment to the Boys and Girls Club of East Los Angeles during a special soccer clinic organized by TEAM ESPN, ESPN’s multi-faceted corporate outreach program.
The clinic was hosted by sportscasters Jorge Ramos, David Faitelson, Rafa Ramos, Mauricio Pedroza (current SportsCenter anchor and 2006 Dream Job winner) and former soccer player and ESPN Deportes commentator Daniel “El Ruso” Brailovsky. Also in attendance were the finalists of ESPN Deportes’ Dream Job reality series, which was sponsored by Ford. The show’s finale aired Monday, May 10th on ESPN Deportes, where Daniela Rodriguez resulted as the winner.
“Being able to take the Ford brand to the grassroots level and connect with the families via the Boys and Girls clubs is a great opportunity,” said Dave Rodríguez, Ford Multicultural Marketing Communications Manager. “Ford’s partnership with ESPN has given us a unique and meaningful way to build stronger ties with our important Hispanic consumers.”
Dream Job: El Reportero is a nationwide search contest for the ultimate sports fan, ready to take his/her sports knowledge to the next level as an ESPN Deportes soccer reporter. After auditions held in six US cities, the seven finalists competing in Dream Job: El Reportero were: Ernesto Miranda (New York), Joseph van Wyk (Miami), Andrés Arias (Chicago), Rafael Luna (San Diego), Dhaniel Sánchez (Los Angeles), Daniela Rodríguez (Dallas) and the AT&T Wildcard finalist chosen by fans, Mauricio Villarreal (New York).
