ESPN Deportes to launch Introduces Nación ESPN.

On the heels of the success of SportsNation, ESPN’s Sports Emmy-Award winning, fan-interactive program, ESPN Deportes will launch Nación ESPN, a Spanish-language, culturally relevant original production targeted to Hispanic sports fans.

Produced from ESPN’s facility in Los Angeles, Nación ESPN will debut on ESPN Deportes first quarter 2011. Nación ESPN will be the network’s first show produced from Los Angeles.

“The launch of Nación ESPN establishes another milestone for the ESPN Deportes brand,” said Rodolfo Martinez, vice president, ESPN Deportes, ESPN International. “Nación ESPN will not only further solidify our presence in the largest Hispanic market in the U.S., but will also provide us with a unique opportunity to interact with the fan across numerous platforms.”

Nación ESPN will be a sports television show fueled by fan interaction and focused on fun. The show will cater to the fans’ voice as the most important one.

Co-hosted by ESPN Deportes’ David Faitelson and Adriana Monsalve, two of the network’s most recognized sportscasters, Nación ESPN will feature discussion of the smaller stories that generate buzz on the Internet but often aren’t seen on television.

The program will have three goals: to inform, interact, and amuse. At its core, Nación ESPN will serve fans with the information they want – highlights, statistics, expertise and analysis. The difference is that fans’ opinions will be analyzed alongside wins and losses. Producers will rely on fans to provide ideas and angles covered in the show. Fans will be able to interact with the hosts before, during and after the show by e-mail, phone and other social media outlets.
