ESPN Deportes launches Entre Copas

ESPN Deportes announced the launch of Entre Copas, a daily studio show that will provide in-depth news and information coverage of the 2024 CONMEBOL Copa América USA and UEFA EURO 2024.

Entre Copas will debuted on Monday, June 10, and air daily from 4 – 6 p.m. ET through Sunday, July 14, the finals of the two international competitions. The daily program will serve as ESPN Deportes’ signature news and analysis platform for the two marquee soccer events, providing authoritative coverage, unique perspectives, Xs and Os matchup analysis, interviews with newsmakers, up-to-the-minute reports from the teams’ camps, and extensive analysis throughout the summer. Entre Copas will air live on ESPN Deportes, and the entire show will be available on demand on ESPN+, with selected segments on ESPN Deportes YouTube channel.

Hosted by award-winning sports journalist Carolina de las Salas, Entre Copas will analyze the top UEFA EURO 2024 matches of the day and preview the night’s Copa América matchups, with a rotating cast of analysts and insiders covering the teams: Jared Borgetti, Barak Fever, Dionisio Estrada, Elizabeth Patiño (Mexico), Ricardo Ortiz, Eduardo Biscayart (Argentina), Richard Mendez (Venezuela), Stephanie Chaverri (Costa Rica), Juanxo Villaverde (Panama), Moises Llorens (Spain), Cecilia Lagos (Netherlands), and Dani Martinez (Italy).

“We are thrilled to present Entre Copas as the cornerstone of our daily summer programming focused solely on the EURO 2024 and Copa América,” said Oscar Ramos, Vice President of Digital Content and ESPN Deportes. “This show reaffirms our commitment to serve U.S. Hispanic sports fans as the definitive home for news and information around the top-tier global competitions in soccer.”

Entre Copas with host Carolina de las Salas extends ESPN Deportes’ leadership position as the platform Spanish-dominant soccer fans in the United States turn to for comprehensive news and information coverage of marquee competitions in soccer. Two years after its launch in 2004, the network pioneered the 24-7, “game-around-the-game” approach to covering the World Cup with Germany in 2006. In its coverage of the South Africa 2010, ESPN Deportes set a new, unmatched bar for a non-rightsholder’s coverage of the World Cup – replicated in 2014, 2018, and 2022. Entre Copas continues the tradition at the ESPN Spanish-language sports network on its 20th anniversary.

The 47th edition of the Copa América comes to the United States for the first time, with 16 teams competing, including powerhouse nations Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay. Global superstar Lionel Messi will lead reigning FIFA World Cup champions Argentina as they defend their 2021 Copa América title. Copa América matches will be played across 14 cities in the U.S. beginning Thursday, June 20, through Sunday, July 14.

Concurrently in Germany, 24 national teams will compete in the 17th edition of the UEFA European Football Championship, including five former FIFA World Cup winners – Germany, Italy, Spain, France, and England. The 51 matches of Europe’s quadrennial international football championship will be played across 10 German cities from Friday, June 14 – Sunday, July 14.
