ESPN Deportes to provide extensive multimedia coverage of Major League Baseball All-Star Game.

Continuing its extensive coverage of the 2006 Major League Baseball season, ESPN Deportes, the Spanish-language network with the most extensive coverage of Major League Baseball, will offer an exclusive, Spanish-language radio production of the 77th edition of the All-Star Game, as well as exclusive telecasts of the Century 21 Home Run Derby and Futures Game.

ESPN Deportes television and radio productions will combine to offer exclusive Spanish-language All-Star coverage, with all events presented live from PNC Park in Pittsburgh, Sunday, July 9 – Tuesday, July 11.

ESPN DEPORTES ALL-STAR TELEVISION COVERAGE:

— Century 21 Home Run Derby: Monday, July 10 at 8 p.m. ET – Host Ernesto Jerez will be joined by former Major Leaguer Candy Maldonado as baseball’s top hitters compete for the home run crown. Sunday Night Baseball reporter Guillermo Celis and Carlos Baerga, former Major Leaguer and baseball analyst for Beisbol Esta Noche, ESPN Deportes’ magazine show, will provide reports from the field.

— Futures Game: Monday, July 10 at 3 p.m. ET – Spanish Emmy nominee Alvaro Martin and Fernado Alvarez will call all the action as the game’s top minor-league prospects from the United States compete against a team of counterparts hailing from outside the U.S.

— Beisbol Esta Noche (Baseball Tonight) (Tuesday, Jul. 11 at 7:30 p.m.) – Anchored by Luis Alfredo Alvarez, the one-hour special edition will originate from PNC Park and will provide All-Star news and analysis highlighted by in-depth reports on the Latin players. Features will include a special report on All-Star team manager Ozzie Guillen of the World Series champion Chicago White Sox and a feature on Pittsburgh Pirates Hall of Famer Roberto Clemente. The report will highlight Clemente’s legacy, influence on the game, and the appeal to retire his No. 21. The show will also include historical notes, factoids and vignettes about Pittsburg and its contributions to the national sports scene.

— 2006 All-Star Game: Tuesday, July 11 at 8 p.m. ESPN Deportes Radio will offer an exclusive, national Spanish-language broadcast of the 77th All-Star Game via its affiliates in Los Angeles, Phoenix, San Diego, Fresno, El Paso, Albuquerque, Atlanta, Las Vegas, Boston, Tucson, Bakersfield, Salt Lake City, El Centro Yuma, Reno, and Port St. Lucie.

— The broadcast team will include the Dodgers’ longtime Spanish-language radio voice and Hall of Fame broadcaster Jaime Jarrin (play-by-play), former All-Star player and manager Cookie Rojas (analysis) and San Diego Padres announcer Eduardo Ortega with reports from the field.

— Conozca Las Estrellas (Meet the Stars): Monday, July 10 at 10 p.m. ET. A special two-hour program, live from the All-Star Gala, featuring commentary, analysis, and interviews with many of the Latino All-Stars.

— ESPN Al Despertar (6 a.m. – 10 a.m., ET) – Morning drive show host Armando Talavera will offer reports from on-site Monday, Jul. 10 – Tues., Jul. 11.
