ESPN Films premieres first Spanish-language Film.

ESPN Films will premiere JC Chávez, the first Spanish-language film under the ESPN Films brand, Saturday, September 27 at 10 p.m. EDT on ESPN Deportes and ESPN Classic. JC Chávez, a film about the feats of Julio César Chávez, undisputedly one of the best Latin boxers of all times, will air as part of the company’s Hispanic Heritage Month programming line-up. The film’s air on ESPN Deportes will appear in Spanish with Spanish graphics; on ESPN Classic it will appear in Spanish with English subtitles and graphics.

Directed by Diego Luna, JC Chávez, a seventy-eight minute film, portrays an intimate account of the struggle and success of a national hero from humble beginnings in Culiacan, Mexico to the ultimate boxing superstar. The film features interviews with Chávez’s family and friends, Mike Tyson, Oscar De La Hoya and Mexico’s former president. JC Chávez was produced by Canana, a film and production company based in Mexico City.
