Esther Novak named to New Jersey Governor’s Economic Council.

Esther Novak, a pioneer in ethnic marketing who founded VanguardComm has been named to New Jersey Governor Corzine’s Economic Growth Council. The Council advises the Governor on issues important to the business and labor community, and its members act as “ambassadors” promoting New Jersey as an attractive place for businesses.

“I am honored to be on Governor Corzine’s Economic Growth Council. New Jersey is a bell-weather state”, says Novak. “It’s among the nation’s most diverse, and we are leading the way in managing the issues and trends shaping America’s future. I’m looking forward to working with other business leaders in our state to execute initiatives to produce measurable and sustainable growth.”

A native of Peru, Novak spent 11 years at AT&T headquarters, where she helped develop the company’s philanthropic foundation and created a groundbreaking multicultural communications organization focused on Hispanic, African American, Asian and Eastern European consumer and business markets. Novak founded Vanguard Communications in 1995, and the firm quickly gained a reputation as a single source for companies targeting multicultural audiences in the United States.
Vanguard’s blue chip clients have included PSEG, The Gillette Company, Sprint PCS, Tropicana North America, Perdue Farms, Fleet Bank, America’s Blood Centers, Management Leadership for Tomorrow, Novartis and Pfizer.

In 2001, Vanguard Communications merged with Ketchum, a global communications company in the Omnicom family of companies. Novak decided to return to independent status and in late 2005 re-launched as VanguardComm.
