April 23, 2011
estrellaTV announced its Fall TV line-up at New York City’s famed Gotham Hall during its first-ever Upfront presentation luncheon. On-hand to present were estrellaTV’s top 3 executives, Lenard Liberman, President/CEO, Winter Horton, COO and Mike Reid EVP of Sales. estrellaTV has maintained its rank as the #4 Spanish-language network in Primetime among Adults 18-49 since its ratings launch in March 2010. Offering programming alternative to Univision and Telemundo, estrellaTV is disproving the notion that “Hispanics only watch novelas.”
estrellaTV’s new Fall slate will include “Al Momento con Enrique Gratas,” featuring the highly-respected news anchor, Enrique Gratas, who spent most of his professional career as the network anchor on Univision. “Al Momento con Enrique Gratas” airing weekly in primetime and will investigate and expand upon issues affecting U.S. Hispanics.
This Fall will mark the debut of “Entrevista Infernal,” or literally translated as the “Interview from Hell.” This hidden camera style show will feature a team of comedic accomplices who will turn real life job interviews into worst nightmares, all in jest of course. This light-hearted and fun show is a first to Spanish-language television.
Brand new dance competition show, “Mi Sueño es Bailar” or “My Dream is to Dance” will round out EstrellaTV’s primetime lineup, complimenting the hugely successful “Tengo Talento, Mucho Talento” format. “Mi Sueño es Bailar” will have interactive audience voting with eliminations happening every week throughout the entire season. The show will feature big name celebrity judges, including Lorena Herrera, star of over 50 movies and dozens of hit novelas including this year’s “Niña de mi Corazon” as well as just releasing her sixth album.
Also new for the Fall, comes late night talk show, “Esta Noche con Hector Suarez,” hosted by Mexican acting and comedic legend, Hector Suarez. Hector will bring his natural wit and comedic talent to this one-hour program composed of artist interviews, stand-up comedy, sketch comedy and musical performances.
Fantastic young talent, Christian Chavez, star of hit novelas like “Clase 406” and “Rebelde” is on tap to host a brand new untitled talk show featuring gossip, artist interviews and breaking news from social media sites. Christian will also co-host EstrellaTV’s daily entertainment show, “Estrellas Hoy”.
EstrellaTV’s returning primetime hits include “Tengo Talento, Mucho Talento,” “Estudio 2,” “A Que No Puedes,” and “Alarma TV”, all coming back bigger and better than ever, with brand new sets designed by Emmy-Award winning designer Andy Walmsley, creator of the “American Idol” set.
The emotional and up-lifting “Quiero Triunfar,” also returns this Fall. “Quiero Triunfar” tells the real-life stories of Latin immigrants whose American dreams are at a cross-roads and is hosted by super-star Francisco Gattorno, star of numerous hit novelas like “La Dueña” and “Mi Pecado.”
In addition to releasing the Fall line-up, Mike Reid, EVP of Sales, announced the upcoming launch of estrella360, a new digital and social media arm. By leveraging estrellaTV’s content ownership and outstanding programming, estrella360 will offer unprecedented opportunity for advertisers to successfully reach U.S. Hispanics across all media touchpoints.
