Eventus and Univision partner to provide Celia Cruz branded products.

Univision Enterprises, a division of Univision Communications Inc., announced an exclusive global agreement to license an array of consumers products branded with the name and image of the late Cuban “Queen of Salsa” Celia Cruz.

In a new licensing representation agreement with Eventus, Univision Consumer Products will represent the legendary singer who passed away in 2003 with 23 gold albums to her credit along with a myriad of awards and distinctions including three GRAMMY® awards, four Latin GRAMMY® awards, as well as a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame®. In 1994, President Bill Clinton honored Cruz with the National Medal of the Arts, and in 2011, the United States Postal Service honored Cruz’s “invaluable contributions to the entertainment industry and international impact” by placing her image on a U.S. postage stamp as part of the Latin Music Legends Series. 
“For Celia, nothing was more important than her fans. It is very gratifying to know that through this agreement, they can have Celia closer to them than ever. She would be very pleased,” said Omer Pardillo-Cid, her manager for the last years of her life, the executor of the Celia Cruz Estate and the founder of the Celia Cruz Foundation.
The agreement with Eventus gives Univision Consumer Products exclusive rights to license Celia Cruz-branded merchandise worldwide beginning today.
Univision Enterprises is already the exclusive consumer products licensing agent for Univision brands and iconic Grupo Televisa brands such as El Chavo, Chapulín Colorado, Hablando Sola, Chef Oropeza, as well as for Televisa novelas, reality series, live action and game shows.
