Exito Newspaper Gamble.

Exito has announced a series of management changes that increase the depth and experience of the publication’s leadership team. Rich Gamble, director of development at Chicago Tribune and interim general manager at Exito since April 2001, has been named director/general manager of Exito. In this role, he will oversee editorial, production, circulation and finance areas.

“As interim general manager, Rich has led Exito to continued revenue growth and profitability and has developed opportunities for cross-media synergy in Chicago,” said Timothy Knight, vice president of Strategic Marketing, Finance and Development for the Chicago Tribune, which publishes Exito, a Spanish-language weekly newspaper.

Knight also announced that Julian Posada will join Exito as director of sales and marketing, and Gladys Arroyo, manager of business-to-business strategy at Chicago Tribune, has been named manager of classified sales at Exito.

Gamble joined the Chicago Tribune in September 1997 as director of packaging. In prior stints at McMaster-Carr Industrial Supply and Tricon Global Restaurants, he gained experience in sales and marketing, operations, transportation, finance, human resources and project management.

Posada joins Exito after serving as general manager/director of marketing for Querico.com, the Hispanic division of online specialty food company, Ethnicgrocer.com. He serves as chairman of Public Allies, a 10-month apprenticeship AmeriCorps program and model for National Service. He also is active on the boards of the American Red Cross, Centro Romero and a member of the City of Chicago Commission of Latino Affairs.

Arroyo has been overseeing the Exito sales department since January. She joined the Chicago Tribune in 1991 and has held a number of positions, including advertising sales representative and retail marketing manager. In her new position, she will work closely with the Chicago Tribune classified sales group to better integrate sales efforts.
