Famila sin Fronteras sponsors IME Scholarship Program.

Liberty Tax Service continues to expand its Hispanic market educational initiative by supporting the IME Scholarship Program, (“Instituto for Mexicans in the Exterior”), as well as its Consulate community learning centers across the United States and other numerous programs with funding of over a $100,000. Students who qualify will for the IME Becas program have the opportunity to participate in this ongoing effort to raise educational levels and access to continuing education.

Martee Pierson, Director of Diversity Programs for Liberty Tax Service & Executive Director of Liberty’s Una Familia sin Fronteras Foundation, commented, “We are extremely pleased to be able to continue our longstanding relationship and contribution to the IME Scholarship Program “For a Better Life” which supports and encourages immigrant students to pursue continuing education. The program not only helps students obtain the tools and knowledge needed to succeed in life, but also gives them “hope for a better life” and future. It is a priority for Liberty Tax Service to provide educational opportunities to our growing Latino community in an effort to help them more successfully enter our mainstream economy.”

“We are very happy to continue our extraordinary partnership with Liberty Tax Service and the Una Familia sin Fronteras Foundation, “commented Mr. Javier Díaz de Leon, Executive Director of the IME. “Our continued relationship reflects and solidifies Liberty’s longstanding commitment to financial and fiscal education for Mexican nationals and Hispanics in general residing in the United States.”

The IME Scholarship Program will hold its kick-off event on Tuesday, July 31st 2012 at the Mexican Consulate in Los Angeles, California. The program is supported by the Mexican Government, and is designed to support Mexican and Mexican American students in the United States. Grants are provided to educational nonprofit organizations, universities and community colleges, which in turn provide scholarships to students interested in continuing their education. The program subsidizes the studies of college/university students pursuing higher education or a university degree. Additionally, IME Scholarship Programs pay for short courses or training programs such as English as a Second Language (ESL) and GED.
