Far East National Bank Joins La Opinión Seminar Series ‘Éxito Empresarial’.
September 27, 2003
Far East National Bank has signed on with La Opinión, the nation’s largest Spanish-language newspaper, as a Supporting Sponsor of a continuing series of business management seminars for Hispanics that will be held throughout the Los Angeles area.
The Éxito Empresarial series are Spanish-language training courses offering basic instruction in marketing, accounting, financial planning, and business plan development for small businesses and entrepreneurs looking to build cornerstones of sound commercial management or strengthen existing business techniques.
Far East National Bank is the premier Pacific Rim regional bank with U.S. corporate headquarters in downtown Los Angeles. As a supporting sponsor, Far East National Bank brings 30 years of expertise in financing and guiding the growth of small and medium-sized businesses.
“We understand the importance of helping entrepreneurs succeed. Éxito Empresarial is a natural extension of our mission and affords us the opportunity to help another burgeoning segment of business owners on their road to financial and business success,” said Glenn Yee, Executive Vice President of Far East National Bank. “We are a financial institution that is firmly committed to offering the varied and widely diverse communities of Los Angeles an affordable opportunity that can greatly benefit them. The number of Hispanic owned businesses is growing at a dramatic rate and it’s only natural that we offer them the same opportunity for success in business.” Los Angeles is home to the largest concentration of Hispanic entrepreneurs in the nation. Over 140,000 Hispanic owned businesses are based in the city and the surrounding areas. Unfortunately, Spanish-speaking entrepreneurs in Los Angeles have limited choices in gaining access to business management training. In 2002, La Opinión teamed with the Small Business Administration and Staples, Inc., to develop Éxito Empresarial: Seminarios de Administración de Empresas (Business Success: Business Management Seminars). The first series of seminars proved to be so successful that the program has been extended.
Staples and the Small Business Administration are presenting sponsors of the seminars. Each series runs for five weeks and class size is limited to 45 participants. At the end of the series, graduates are awarded a certificate of completion from the SBA.
