Felix Guillermo – News Anchor @ Telemundo WSCV-TV In Miami.

Telemundo Noticiero 51 News Director Roberto Vizcón announced that veteran journalist and news anchor Félix Guillermo is joining Channel 51’s journalistic team effective August 1, 2001.

“Félix Guillermo has all the qualities that a news organization looks for in an anchor, and having been the presenter of the top rated week-end newscast in South Florida, Félix brings to Channel 51 tremendous credibility and experience,” said Vizcón.

The addition of Félix Guillermo to the Channel 51 news team constitutes the first of other major announcements to be made leading to the September 8, 2001 launch of the station’s week-end news. “We are close to completing the news expansion program we began two years ago and once we launch our week-end newscasts at 6PM and 11PM with Felix Guillermo as anchor, we will be the only Spanish language television station in the market airing twenty-four local newscasts weekly,” said Luis Fernández Rocha, Channel 51’s Vice President and General Manager.

Born in Cuba, Félix Guillermo grew up in Spain graduating from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid with degrees in Journalism and Philosophy. His professional development in South Florida began in 1985 where during the last sixteen years he has been part of the news team at Telemundo Network, Univision and WLTV Channel 23. He is the winner of five regional EMMY Awards, three for his reporting and anchoring talents and two for his writing skills. Felix Guillermo is married to Noeli Sanchez and they have two young sons.
